Lokesh Kanagaraj is an Indian film director and screenwriter who primarily works in Tamil cinema. He was born on 5th May 1983 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
He started his career as an assistant director to director Mani Ratnam in the film “Kadal” (2013). He then worked as an assistant director to other directors including AR Murugadoss and Pa. Ranjith.
Lokesh Kanagaraj made his directorial debut with the Tamil film “Maanagaram” in 2017, which was critically acclaimed and commercially successful. He then directed the blockbuster hit “Kaithi” (2019), starring Karthi in the lead role.
In 2021, he directed the Tamil film “Master” starring Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi, which became a major box office success.
